Hello, I’m Sally and I’m a fully qualified and experienced counsellor/psychotherapist working with couples and individuals undergoing relationship problems. Relationships have been an integral part of my counselling work, and I have gained a wealth of knowledge in relationship dynamics.
I have a BA (Hons) in Humanistic Counselling and a Certificate in Couples Counselling. I’m also a registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy) which means I adhere to their Ethical Framework.
I regularly update my training requirements and I’m fully insured and DBS checked.
My experience has led me to have an in depth understanding of what makes a healthy, happy relationship. This includes conflict resolution, effective communication, loss of connection, dealing with illnesses. Along with life stage changes, extended or blended family difficulties, divorce and separation. Other areas I work with include roles, chore division, work/change of profession and neurodiversity.
Couples have seen me for therapy in the past said they found my work highly valuable and insightful. I facilitate positive change with attuned, non-judgemental and compassionate listening. Alongside, providing effective psycho-educational tools for gaining reflective insight into behavioural patterns. My overall aim of is to develop a better understanding of your relationship dynamics. As well as helping you learn how to communicate more effectively, re-connect and develop greater empathy and depth between you.
I also work with individuals experiencing any type of relationship problem, including the effects of relational psychological abuse. I’m highly skilled in identifying this as an issue. This work is solely specific to individuals due to the volatile nature of abuse within relationships.

Background/experience
My life experience has been varied and highly valuable. Previously, I volunteered for the Samaritans for many years. Along with continuing to work as a music producer, songwriter and performing artist, which provides a base to draw upon my creativity. I have over 30 years’ experience in a challenging expressive arts environment which enhances my practice. In support of my work as a musician, I held many reputable and trusted assistance/support positions before establishing my private practice counselling business.
As well as working in private practice I also counsel at the Fountain Centre within Guildford’s Royal Surrey Hospital. Here, I provide support for cancer patients and their families and specialise in counselling women with Gynaecological cancers for GRACE Charity. My work is diverse in terms of age groups, sexualities, cultural/social backgrounds and professional status’s.

- Firstly, I provide a safe, confidential space with non-judgemental support. Hopefully this will enable you to feel confident enough to explore your relationship challenges and any difficult emotions. As a Humanistic Therapist, I firmly believe in promoting autonomy and gaining an understanding of your unique experiences with a caring, compassionate, empathetic and accepting way of being.
- I will provide the foundation on which to build a trusting, equal rapport to explore your relationship. My aim is to facilitate better communication, deeper connections and conflict resolution.
- Establishing a collaborative relationship is key to our work together. This will allow you to think of things you may not have considered before, creating opportunities for personal growth, positive change, and acceptance. I will support you as you regain control over your life and develop coping strategies.
- I draw upon family, cultural and wider world influences to gain insight into your relationship dynamics/patterns.
- I’m aware that it can take courage to take to make the first step towards seeking couple counselling. Therefore, I will ensure that my approach is always supportive, encouraging and deeply empathic.
