About Sian
Sian Jones is a qualified relationship and couples counsellor, working online with clients across Surrey and the UK.
When relationships feel difficult, emotions often run high. It can become hard to see beyond what is happening in the moment, and couples can find themselves stuck in cycles of blame or misunderstanding. My role is to offer a non judgemental, secure, and confidential space where we can explore what is happening and begin to shift these patterns together.
I take a logical, step by step approach to couples therapy. I ask thoughtful questions and actively guide conversations, helping you both talk about what is not working and why, while also supporting each of you to genuinely hear the other’s point of view.
The aim is not always to agree, or even to like each other’s views, but to reach a deeper level of understanding. In my experience, this understanding often reduces the hurt, resentment, and anger that can build up over time. I am not a therapist who sits back in silence. I take an active role in helping you move towards change.
Whether you are hoping to improve your relationship or need support to separate more amicably, I offer a calm and supportive space to work things through. I work with couples from diverse backgrounds, cultures, same gender relationships, families, and close relationships.

Background & Experience
I have spent over 15 years specialising in relationship counselling, originally setting up Relationship Counselling Kent before expanding to support couples across Surrey. Before retraining as a therapist, I worked in management roles at Coca-Cola Enterprises Ltd. The structure and discipline from this background continue to shape my practical, grounded way of working.
Alongside working full time, I completed my degree in Psychology and postgraduate training in psychotherapy and CBT. This training underpins my understanding of human behaviour and relationship patterns, and informs the way I support couples to challenge unhelpful thinking and improve the way they relate to each other.
How I Can Help
Create a safe space: I offer a calm, supportive, and non-judgemental space where you can both talk openly and feel equally heard.
Improve communication: I will help you listen to one another in a way that goes beyond words, so you really hear and understand each other’s perspective.
Break negative cycles: Together we will explore any unhelpful patterns that keep repeating, and I’ll support you in finding healthier, more positive ways of relating.
Strengthen connection: I’ll guide you in rebuilding trust, empathy, and closeness, helping you reconnect and move forward with more understanding.
Support through change: Whether you want to repair and strengthen your relationship, or separate in a respectful and constructive way, I will be alongside you step by step.

“Sian was very methodical and to the point. It was amazing what she achieved in such a short period of time. She was very friendly but also very firm. We can highly recommend her and we will use her again!”

“Sian is an amazing counsellor. She listens well, allows both sides to communicate, is honest and is very good at analysing the underlying issues to get to the root cause of it, which is absolutely necessary in order to start addressing the real problem. I felt a safe space with her. Before the first session, things were hanging on its last hinge. By the end of the first session, things turned around. Communication was much improved as there was better understanding of each other. I would highly recommend her service and would also use her again. I only wish I had found her sooner!”

“I honestly thought we were probably past the point where counselling could help. We had been having the same arguments for years and neither of us felt listened to. Sian was brilliant at making sure we both had a chance to speak and helped us see how we were getting stuck in the same pattern. We understand and like each other so much more now!”

“Sian’s support has had a profound impact on my life. She helped me reflect honestly on every aspect of my life and understand how my actions and decisions had affected the people I love most. With her professional, compassionate and impartial guidance, she helped me and my family work through some incredibly difficult issues and, most importantly, helped us find a way forward together. Her ability to provide a safe and non judgemental space allowed me to be completely honest with myself and take responsibility for the things I needed to change. I am enormously grateful to Sian for her guidance, understanding and professionalism. Her help has made a genuine and lasting difference to both me and my family.”

“Sian helped me and my partner work through our constant arguments. She helped us clearly define which behaviours and issues were causing us to disagree. And then helped us find a resolution and understand each other's viewpoint. I can confirm and say confidently that Sian helped save our relationship. Thank you Sian.”

“We had 6 sessions after going through a very difficult patch in our marriage. I wasn't particularly keen on counselling if I'm honest but agreed to try it. I was surprised by how useful I found it. It wasn't about deciding who was right or wrong, which was probably what I was worried about. Our therapist Sian helped both of us look at what we were doing when things went wrong and how we could handle it differently. Would definitely recommend giving it a try if you're struggling.”
