About Deborah
Hello, I’m Deborah Leaver, an Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist with a CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and extensive experience working with couples and individuals.
Whether you’re struggling with conflict, feeling distant, or simply want to strengthen your relationship, I’m here to help. My approach is warm, down-to-earth, and tailored to your individual needs. I work with people from all walks of life, including diverse cultural, religious, LGBTQIA+, and neurodiverse backgrounds.
I use an integrative approach that draws on a range of techniques to support each couple’s unique situation. Together, we’ll explore how early experiences and communication patterns may be shaping your relationship today and find practical ways to move forward.
I will provide a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space where both you and your partner can express yourselves and feel heard. While it might feel uncomfortable discussing personal issues with a stranger, my aim is to help you both feel at ease and supported.
We’ll look at your emotions, behaviours, and relationship dynamics, and where relevant, explore how past experiences may be affecting your current situation.
As a registered member of the BACP, I follow their ethical guidelines and undertake regular supervision and professional development to ensure I provide the best possible service to my clients.

Background & Experience
Before becoming a therapist, I worked as a Management Consultant, mainly within the legal sector. I’ve also supported clients through charities, helping those facing bereavement, domestic violence, and substance misuse. I continue to work for one of these charities, as I believe therapy should be accessible to everyone who needs it.
Alongside this, I run a busy private practice seeing both individuals and couples, in person and online. I regularly attend workshops and training to keep my practice current and effective.
I hold an Enhanced DBS certificate and Professional Indemnity Insurance, so you can feel confident and safe working with me.
How I Can Help
