There are times in life when many of us feel overwhelmed, stuck, or face difficult choices, for a variety of reasons. It is how we meet these challenges and work through them, that enables us to live life to our best potential and our happiest relationships.
Even though it often takes courage to seek help with your relationship, most couples express a huge sense of relief having shared their concerns with a professional, unbiased relationship therapist. Couple counselling is a place where the whole self can be expressed and experienced fully in a non-judgemental environment and
All relationships experience periods of stress, conflict and sadness, and deciding that the challenges and frustrations you are facing are more than you can handle alone, can often be difficult. They can also be interwoven with questions and anxieties. However, rest assured, I will be there to support you through the whole process.
I work phenomenologically, which simply means, I seek to understand your individual, subjective views and perceptual experience within your relationship. This is so we can find a way forward together in whichever way you choose.
My aim as a couple counsellor is to help you better understand yourself and each other, in order for you to resolve any issues you are experiencing. I provide a safe, confidential space where you will have the opportunity to calmly discuss and explore the problems you are facing in ways you find the most helpful.
The world of relationship therapy has changed from the distant and emotionally removed therapist to that of empathy and mutual humanity. After all, the reality is that we are all in this together and nobody is immune from the challenges of human existence. The co-created relationship that is built in the therapy session between you, and me as your therapist, can be a powerful and unique experience.
My integrative approach draws on the valuable contributions of psychodynamic therapy and Person-Centred therapy, which enables me to tailor my approach to suit individual situation and relationship needs.
Through a trusting therapeutic relationship, you will have the opportunity to explore and connect whole heartedly to your thoughts and feelings. Hopefully enabling you a greater understanding or each other and a higher level of self-awareness. My approach is collaborative and places you both as the experts on in your relationship. Together we will work through whatever it is that you bring to the session; there is nothing that cannot be spoken about
