Quick Summary: Here’s a short introduction to Jessica and how she can help, you can read more about her below.
Jessica is a fully qualified and experienced therapist specialising in relationship and couples therapy, based at Relationship Counselling Kingswood. She offers a warm, calm, and non-judgemental space where you and your partner can explore challenges, improve communication, and rebuild emotional connection.
Drawing on an integrative approach Jessica blends person-centred, psychodynamic, and transactional methods to help couples understand themselves and each other more deeply. Whether you’re navigating conflict, rebuilding trust, or seeking clarity about your relationship’s direction, Jessica’s compassionate and structured style provides the tools to communicate more effectively and move forward together with confidence and respect.
Hello! My name is Jessica and I’m a fully qualified and experienced individual and couple counsellor. I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy). So therefore, uphold their ethical guidelines, maintaining ongoing supervision and CPD (Continual Professional Development). This ensures I consistently provide my clients with a high-quality service.
My main area of expertise is relational therapy. Which means, I look holistically at the relationship with ‘self’ such as role/identity, attachment style, self-esteem and so on. Alongside the systemic relationship with significant others, including both partners; parents; children and even relationships at work.
Through me providing a safe, confidential space and non-judgmental space, I will help you find ways of resolving any current conflict along with any historic issues within your relationship. I will endeavour to help you feel relaxed enough to explore the problems you are facing that is productive and effective for you both.
I understand that there is no such thing as a ‘one size fits all approach’ which can be formulaically applied to remedy every couple’s unique situation. Therefore, I pride myself on being a truly reflective practitioner, enabling you the autonomy over the goals, pace, possible tasks and interventions. I will invite you to take the lead in order to achieve the goals/aims you have set yourselves. Of course, I will be there to safely guide you, drawing upon my expertise and experience to gentle challenge and direct you where appropriate.
Where there may be impasse (brick-wall) or uncertainty as to which is the optimal direction for all, I will help you find clarity by providing a variety of tools and techniques to aide you both in getting there safely.
The cornerstone of couple’s therapy is to help you communicate more effectively. So therefore, I will help you actively listen to each other so you feel truly heard by the other. Together, we will explore your individual needs along with helping you express your needs within the relationship. and express your needs, so as to improve the chances of them being successfully met, imparting a sense of self value and fulfilment.
Couples work inevitably leads to the individuals incidentally having a better understanding of themselves, as well as of each other. I will support you to be able to better understand how effective communication, including conflict resolution, can be relayed and how it might land with the recipient. Studies show that formative life experiences can often be the cause of miscommunication in a relationship, e.g. illness or bereavement in childhood, alongside the subjective interpretation of each other’s language or behaviours. Are you even consciously aware what you and your partner’s ‘love language(s)’ are? The gradual exploration of these areas can lead to a greater understanding, which in turn, will reduce any rumination; hurt, resentment; resignation or, indeed, anger that may have latently been brewing. Let me ride that explosion with you both!
My methodology is Integrative following the Petrushka Clarkson relational model theory and I may draw down on multiple theories at any one time, for example person-centred; psychodynamic; transactional etc. I am insured and always uphold my governing body’s BACP ethical guidelines, maintain ongoing supervision and CPD (Continual Professional Development) to ensure the service I provide to my clients is consistently of the highest quality.
Prior to qualifying as a Counsellor, I worked as a teacher within both state and private schools. It was here, that I realised, how I particularly enjoyed the psychological aspects of teaching, seeking out the holistic picture of my students and their families. Therefore, making the transition to becoming a Therapist was a natural step.
Six years ago, I trained as a Bereavement Counsellor with ‘Cruse Bereavement Care’. This enabled me exposure to a wide range of issues and a diverse range of cultures, ages, sexuality and relationship situations. I’ve also volunteered as a pro-bono counsellor at Sutton Women’s Centre, which is a hub for survivors of domestic abuse.
I’m DBS checked fully insured and uphold my continuous personal development training requirements to ensure I provide the best possible service to my clients.
I very much look forward inviting you to my relaxing therapy studio in the heart of Kingswood Village.

BACP Registered | Specialist Couple Therapy Training with Relate | 10+ Years’ Experience
Quick Summary: Daniel is a warm, experienced relationship counsellor who trained with Relate and has over 10 years’ experience supporting couples. His approach is direct yet compassionate, helping couples address recurring conflicts, heal from past wounds, and learn new skills for lasting closeness. With a background that gives him deep empathy for people facing life changes, Daniel provides a safe space for both partners to feel heard, understood, and respected.
Hello, my name is Daniel. I’m a BACP-registered Person-Centred Therapist and Relationship Counsellor. I hold a BA (Hons) degree from the Metanoia Institute and completed my specialist couple therapy training with Relate over 10 years ago.
I believe therapy should be a space where you feel truly heard, understood, and accepted. Relationship counselling offers a safe, supportive environment for you both to explore the root of your difficulties. It gives each of you the opportunity to speak openly and be listened to without judgement.
For some, therapy can be life-changing. For others, it helps resolve issues before they grow into something bigger.
Life can change in an instant. Back in 2001, at the start of a new century, I was a 45-year-old father and husband. I owned a restaurant in London and was earning a good living. Then I lost it all — the restaurant, the house, and eventually my marriage.
During this painful time, I saw a therapist who helped me begin to make sense of it all. He had faced his own life struggles and truly understood what I was going through. That experience stayed with me, and it inspired me to retrain as a therapist. I now hope to offer that same understanding and perspective to the couples and individuals I work with today.
Promoting shared responsibility – I’ll encourage you both to move away from focusing only on individual fulfilment, towards recognising how your actions affect each other.
Compassionately addressing destructive patterns – Using a firm but caring approach, I will gently challenge behaviours such as withdrawal, contempt, or passive aggression to help rebuild trust and closeness.
Teaching practical skills for real connection – Together, we’ll develop skills like active listening, speaking from vulnerability, setting boundaries, and responding without defensiveness.
Exploring family-of-origin wounds – We’ll uncover how early experiences such as trauma, neglect, or control can show up in adult relationships, often unconsciously.
Challenging limiting gender roles – I’ll support you in exploring how cultural and gender conditioning can restrict emotional expression and create imbalance in relationships.

Shireen is a qualified and experienced Couples Counsellor based at Relationship Counselling Cobham. She supports couples in moving beyond conflict, rebuilding trust, and strengthening emotional connection. Drawing on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques alongside existential and psychodynamic approaches, she helps partners understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours influence their relationship dynamic.

Hello, I’m Shireen, a dedicated couples counsellor with a background in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I’m a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), and I feel privileged to support couples in moving beyond conflict, emotional distance and unhelpful patterns of communication.
I use CBT-informed tools and techniques to help couples understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours impact the dynamics of their relationship. Together, we’ll identify what’s keeping you stuck, whether that’s recurring arguments, trust issues, or emotional disconnection – and begin building healthier, more connected ways of relating.
My approach to marriage counselling is compassionate, collaborative and goal-focused. I’m not here just to explore problems, I’m here to help you create meaningful, lasting change in your relationship.
Postgraduate Certificate in Existential Psychotherapy and Counselling – New School of Existential Psychotherapy, London (including a dedicated term in CBT theory and practice)
Level 4 Diploma in Integrative Psychodynamic and Existential Therapy
Before becoming a therapist, I worked in high-pressure environments including political organisations, the Palace of Westminster, advertising agencies and trade unions. While it might seem an unusual path into counselling, these roles gave me a deep understanding of people’s diverse needs and how relationships function in complex settings.
Over time, I realised my true calling was supporting people on a more personal, meaningful level. That insight led me to retrain in psychotherapy and counselling, and I’ve never looked back.
Today, I bring warmth, emotional intelligence and real-world insight into every session, creating a supportive space where you can better understand each other and themselves.
Couples counselling isn’t just about solving problems, it’s about helping you build a stronger, more connected partnership where both people feel heard, supported and emotionally safe.
Whether you’re navigating infidelity, parenting pressures, cultural differences or ongoing conflict, I’ll guide you with compassion and structure. Together, we’ll make sense of what’s happening between you and start working towards real, lasting change.
I’ll introduce simple, evidence-based tools to help you express your needs clearly and listen more openly to each other. We’ll explore common communication traps and practise new ways of speaking and responding that build connection instead of conflict.
We’ll look at what’s triggering arguments and why things escalate. I’ll help you both understand your emotional reactions and learn calming techniques so disagreements become more productive and less painful.
If your relationship has been impacted by betrayal, secrecy or emotional distance, we’ll work gently and gradually to repair the rupture. I’ll support you in having honest conversations, setting clear boundaries, and rebuilding trust step by step.
Many couples fall into patterns where the same problems keep resurfacing. We’ll work together to spot those cycles, understand what drives them, and replace them with more constructive ways of relating.
Sometimes, hidden beliefs about ourselves or our partner can keep us stuck. I’ll help you bring these into the open, reflect on where they come from, and shift the narrative so it better supports your relationship.
We’ll explore what each of you needs to feel secure, loved and valued. I’ll guide you in creating new habits of connection, from the way you respond during conflict, to the way you show appreciation and care in everyday life.
I’ll help you reconnect emotionally, rebuild your bond and explore ways to bring back warmth, closeness and affection – even if it’s been missing for a while.
Whether you’re dealing with external stressors like work, family or health, or internal issues like drifting apart, I’ll support you in developing tools and perspectives that help you navigate challenges together, not against each other.
You don’t need to have it all figured out before starting therapy, just a willingness to explore, reflect and take small steps forward. I’ll be with you every step of the way.

Hello, my name is Katrina and ‘m a fully qualified Psychotherapist and Couples Counsellor based at Relationship Counselling Coulsdon. I have over 30 years of experience and I’m a registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy). I’m dedicated to helping couples build stronger, healthier relationships.
I provide a warm, welcoming, and safe space where you can openly express, explore, and understand whatever is troubling you. Together, we will work towards fostering a better relationship with yourself and your partner.
The love and companionship of a partner can bring out the best in us, offering a nurturing, supportive, and enlivening connection. However, relationships can sometimes face challenges such as arguments, affairs, mistrust, growing apart, control issues, boredom, sexual concerns, and external pressures. Big decisions, like whether and when to have a child, can also create stress.
During our sessions, we will objectively examine the dynamics between you, ensuring both of you feel heard and respected. I will guide you in discovering and experimenting with better ways to communicate your innermost thoughts and feelings, helping you grow in ways you might not have imagined.
We will explore how you express love and care for each other and how these gestures are received. I will support you in creating the conditions for intimacy and passion to flourish once again. It’s essential to feel like a team in your relationship rather than tackling issues alone. So I will help you build the awareness and skills to achieve that unity.
If an affair or betrayal has occurred, I provide a neutral, compassionate space where you can discuss what happened. This will enable you to process your emotions and come to a clearer understanding of your relationship’s current state and future possibilities. Whether you decide to stay together or part ways, I am here to support your journey.
Good relationships require attention and time, which is often freely given during the “falling-in-love” phase. Couples counselling can help you rediscover the motivation to invest that loving attention and time back into your relationship. Therefore, allowing it to thrive and flourish long after our sessions have ended.
I look forward to supporting you on your path to a more fulfilling and loving relationship.
I have always been deeply passionate about making connections and understanding the intricacies of human behavior. My journey into this field began with a career in marketing and consumer insight, where I delved into the fascinating dynamics of the relationships people form with brands. Over the years, I managed, designed, and interpreted research, leading a team dedicated to uncovering these insights. This experience honed my skills in understanding what drives people and how they relate to the world around them.
After a period of full-time work in this sector, I transitioned to freelancing as a market research consultant. During this time, I pursued my love for creative expression through writing fiction and poetry. This phase of my life opened my eyes to the profound intersections between creativity, self-knowledge, and personal growth. I immersed myself in various creative forms such as writing, dance, movement, music, voice, drama, imagination, and art.
My own personal journey in therapy began around this time, sparking a deep interest in therapeutic practices. I initially trained in using the arts as a therapeutic tool and later pursued training in relational and embodied psychotherapy. This comprehensive training allowed me to support individuals in a more holistic and integrated manner.
With a solid foundation in individual therapy, I expanded my practice to include working with couples and adults in various relationships. I have also been dedicated to sharing my knowledge and skills through workshops and further training. My work has reached diverse groups, including the general public, young homeless people, and fellow counselors seeking professional development.
In my therapeutic practice, I draw upon my extensive background in research, creativity, and personal growth to foster a supportive and transformative environment for my clients. Whether through individual sessions or group workshops, I am committed to facilitating meaningful connections and personal development for all those I work with.
My goal is to provide a supportive and transformative therapeutic experience that promotes lasting personal growth and fulfilling relationships.

Certified Imago Therapist | BACP Registered | 20+ Years’ Experience
Quick Summary: Here’s a short introduction to Denese and how she can help — you can read more about her below.
Denese is a highly experienced relationship counsellor offering online couples therapy via Zoom. A certified Imago Therapist and integrative practitioner, she draws on over 20 years of experience helping couples break painful cycles, improve communication, and reconnect emotionally. Whether you’re feeling unheard, stuck in recurring conflict, or unsure whether to stay together, Denese offers a calm, non-judgemental space to explore what’s going wrong and what’s possible. She gently supports both partners to be truly heard, helping you move forward — together or apart — with greater clarity and respect.
Hello, my name is Denese MacDonald and I am a certified Relationship Counsellor in Imago Therapy, with over 20 years’ experience. I am BACP registered, which means I am qualified to work with both individuals and couples, although relationship counselling is my main area of expertise.
Imago Therapy is a process designed to assist couples in overcoming a distanced, hurting relationship in order to find love again. Whilst I am a practitioner of Imago Therapy, I am essentially an integrative therapist. That’s because I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach, so I use different therapeutic models depending on each couple’s individual needs.
Perhaps you are tired of recycling the same conflicts which leave you feeling misunderstood, hurt, or angry? Or maybe you feel so unhappy in your relationship that you are wondering if you should stay or leave?
Often, when couples are experiencing a lot of pain and frustration in their relationship, they feel disconnected and defensive. I will support you in creating positive change in the way you communicate. Instead of reacting defensively or acting out your hurt with destructive behaviours, I will help you both calmly express your pain or dissatisfactions and explore them more deeply. Together, we will discuss what you would like to change and tailor the counselling to meet your goals.
Undertaking couple therapy online, in a safe non-judgemental space, will allow listening and understanding to replace escalation and conflict. Relationship counselling can help expand awareness and develop the skills needed to repair and grow your relationship to its full potential.
If change is not possible and recovery is not your goal, then online couple counselling can support you to talk this through with kindness and mutual respect, so you can move forward more positively in separate lives.
Marriage counselling is a positive step to navigate your way through relationship difficulties. Being truly heard by your partner is the start of healing and growth.
Being a BACP member means that my practice is guided by their code of ethics. I also undertake regular professional development and supervision, as well as holding professional indemnity insurance.
👉 If you would like to make an appointment to see Denese for online couple therapy, please contact her via Relationship Counselling Surrey today.

Quick Summary: Here’s a short introduction to Stephanie and how she can help — you can read more about her below.
Stephanie is a fully qualified and experienced Relationship Therapist based at Relationship Counselling Kingston upon Thames. She offers a calm, supportive space where couples can explore communication breakdowns, trust issues, and emotional disconnection with empathy and structure. Drawing on her CPCAB Level 5 Postgraduate Diploma in Relationship Counselling (Relate), Stephanie takes a collaborative and tailored approach to help partners reconnect, resolve conflict, or separate more peacefully when that’s the right path. Compassionate, insightful, and practical, she helps couples understand each other’s needs, improve communication, and build healthier, more fulfilling relationships.
Hello, my name is Stephanie, I am a fully qualified Integrative Relational Counsellor, and I’m highly experienced in working with couples and individuals. I have a CPCAB (Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body) Level 5 Post Graduate Diploma in Relationship Counselling (Relate).
Perhaps you are seeking couples counselling because communication has broken down in your relationship, leaving you feeling hurt, resentful and/or unheard. Or maybe you are going through a period of transition and change, or an infidelity has come to light which feels impossible to overcome without professional support. For some couples, personality differences can lead to conflict and disappointment. Couples also seek relationship therapy for help in separating more amicably, or they are looking for clarity in the direction they would like their relationship to take.
I fully appreciate that taking the first step into couple therapy might feel daunting. Because you might be opening up to a stranger for the very first time, which isn’t always easy. However, rest assured, I provide a warm, empathetic environment for us to work together, at your chosen pace. Hopefully, this will enable you to feel comfortable enough to explore the challenges you are currently facing and work towards the goals you have set yourself and sustainable solutions.
When we embark on a relationship, it is right for us at that period of time and although we take care to align our values and interests, people can and do change. It is highly unlikely to remain unchanged by some of the challenge’s life throws at us.
I also have a deep understanding of how addictions, neurodiversity and mental health issues can impact relationships.
I prioritise a collaborative working relationship, which means we will define common goals and work together in order to achieve them. I don’t take a ‘one size fits all’ approach to couple therapy. Instead, my sessions are personalised and structured for your individual needs as well as the needs as a couple.

I’m from the UK and have lived in the South West London area the majority of my life. I live with my husband of 7 years and a school age daughter. I have a keen interest in health and fitness and how the mind and body work as one.
My work has always involved being with people, originally in the creative industry where I designed and executed window displays. I found myself becoming more and more drawn to understanding team dynamics and supporting my team to become more self aware about their working relationships. Since taking the plunge to train to be a therapist 6 years ago I have worked as a mentor for Surrey Care Trust, Headstrong, Relate Uk and in my own private practice for the last 2 years.

Hello, my name is Sian Jones, and I’m a highly experienced Relationship Counsellor and founder of ‘Relationship Counselling Surrey’. I have a Psychology (BSC) hons and a proven track record of successfully helping tens of hundreds of couples achieve their goals. In addition to this, I hold diplomas in both ‘Psychotherapy’ and ‘Cognitive Behavioural Therapy’ (CBT), which assist me in addressing negative thought patterns when working with couples.
It was over 15 years ago, that I embarked on my career in relationship counselling, by establishing our parent company ‘Relationship Counselling Kent’. This thriving couple counselling business, prompted me to expand the availability of relationship counselling to couples to another county. Resulting in the creation of the now ‘Relationship Counselling Surrey’.
When relationships face difficulties, emotions run high, making it challenging to see beyond the immediate issues. Consequently, identifying individual contributions to the problems becomes difficult, often leading to a tendency to blame one’s partner. I take a logical, step-by-step approach to couple therapy. By asking relevant questions, I will encourage you both to work through the challenges together. This allows you to openly express what is not working and why, while affording your partner the opportunity to genuinely listen and understand your perspective.
The goal is not necessarily to agree or even like each other’s viewpoints but to reach an understanding. In my experience, by achieving such understanding goes a long way in removing any hurt, resentment or anger that might have built up over time. If you would like to book to see me for online relationship therapy.
BSC (Hons) Psychology
Certificate in Couple and Relationship Therapy
Diploma in Psychotherapy
PGDip in ‘Cognitive Behavioural Therapy’ (CBT/REBT)
Outside of my therapeutic experience, my background is within the corporate world of ‘Coca-Cola Enterprises Ltd’ where I worked for many years in a variety of management roles. This might appear far removed from what I do now. However, I firmly believe the training, structure and discipline I gained during this time has contributed greatly in my becoming a successful Relationship Therapist. I also feel that my exposure in this type of environment has enabled me to view a ‘wider’ world and not just that of a therapy room. I took the decision to change direction and pursue a career in counselling. Therefore, over a 10-year period, whilst working full time, I undertook a degree in Psychology in order to train to become a psychotherapist, couple counsellor and a CBT Therapist.

Hello and welcome, my name is Janine Knight and I am a fully qualified and experienced Relationship Counsellor with working with couples and individuals online. My training was through Relate and I have a CPCAB (Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body) Level 5 Post Graduate Diploma in Relationship Counselling and I’m a registered member of BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy).
I specialise in relationship therapy and all of my training was based around this. This means that I am trained to work with two people at the same time and maintain a relationship focus. I have helped hundreds of couples over the years, finding ways of resolving the issues within their relationships. I provide a safe, confidential space and will endeavour to help you both feel relaxed enough to explore the problems you are facing. My approach is caring and empathetic and in a structured way we will examine the dynamics that you both bring to the relationship.
I approach each couple as unique and offer you both equal time to lead the discussions and explore your personal goals from the therapy. I will not be there to judge you but rather to facilitate a deeper understanding of each other’s interpretations and individual experience of the relationship. If you are unsure as to which direction you would like the relationship to take, I will help you find clarity by providing a variety of tools and techniques to help you get there.
The main aim of couple therapy sessions is to help you both communicate more effectively. This will hopefully lead to you having a better understanding of yourselves and each other. We will aim to reduce resentments, hurt and anger, which may have built up over time and lead to a real sense of disconnect.
I practice Integrative Therapy which means I take aspects from several theoretical approaches (Systemic, Psychodynamic, Humanistic and CBT) and I work with an Emotionally Focused style of therapy.
Ethical Standards – As a member of BACP I adhere to their ethical guidelines, supervision and CPD (Continual Professional Development) requirements to ensure that the service I provide to my clients is professional and consistent with best practice. I am fully insured and am DBS checked.
Prior to becoming a Couples Counsellor, I was a Registered Midwife working within the NHS. I particularly enjoyed the psychological aspects of care and making the transition to becoming a counsellor was a natural evolution. My midwifery experience equipped me with many useful skills I bring as a counsellor. I trained with Relate six years ago and have gained experience in a huge range of issues, working with a diverse range of cultures, ages and sexualities. My previous work was also in a voluntary capacity as a trained Mediator working with neighbourhood and family disputes
I am married with four, now adult, children.

At the beginning of our first session, I will ask you what you hope to achieve out of the therapy.
